Welcome back to Wednesday, Politicados!
For those who know me, it’s no secret that I have a passion for science, particularly space exploration. Today, I want to shine a light on an exciting story about our next adventure beyond Earth.
NPR recently featured an in-depth profile on Victor Glover, the pilot for NASA’s upcoming Artemis II mission. This mission marks a significant moment as it will be the first manned journey to the moon since the Apollo program concluded more than 50 years ago. While Artemis II won’t include a lunar landing, its purpose is to test all systems and spacecraft to pave the way for a future mission that will allow us to once again walk on the moon.
The profile not only highlights Glover’s remarkable life and achievements but also delves into the experience of being a Black astronaut representing America on his inaugural mission in 2020. It’s a fascinating read that I highly recommend.
As for me, I’m off to endure a dental appointment. Remember to spread kindness and thoughtfulness today. Cheers to a bright and adventurous future in space exploration.
