Modern College of Business and Science in Muscat has recently announced its membership as a Signatory Member of the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME). This United Nations-supported initiative focuses on promoting sustainability in business schools worldwide, with the goal of preparing business students to drive change in the future.
By joining over 800 business and management schools globally, MCBS is dedicated to transforming management education and nurturing responsible decision-makers who can contribute to sustainable development. PRME encourages its signatory members to track their progress in sustainability efforts and provides them with resources for curriculum development, skill enhancement, and knowledge sharing platforms.
The initiative aims to equip future leaders with the necessary skills to balance economic and sustainability objectives, emphasizing the importance of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and aligning academic institutions with the work of the UN Global Compact. PRME serves as a vital link between the United Nations and higher education institutions focused on management education, with a significant number of top business schools already participating in the initiative.
By committing to the Seven Principles, MCBS has pledged to continuously improve its application of these principles, share progress updates regularly, and contribute to the collective learning experience within the global PRME community. This move underscores MCBS’s dedication to fostering positive change and creating a world where both business and society can thrive.
Dr. Muneer Al Maskari, Executive Chairman of MCBS, expressed pride in the college’s participation in PRME, highlighting its alignment with the institution’s values and its commitment to supporting students and the broader MCBS community. This step towards responsible management education reinforces MCBS’s mission to prepare students for a sustainable and impactful future.
