Lucid Motors, the electric vehicle manufacturer, has once again reduced the prices of its Air range. In late 2020, the company had already lowered the cost of the base Air Pure and Touring models but had not announced the official pricing for the Grand Touring. Now, just a few months later, Lucid Motors has unveiled the pricing details for the entire model range, including some significant discounts.
Starting with the entry-level product, the Air Pure RWD, the price now begins at ,900, which is a ,500 reduction from the price announced in December. The Touring model sees an even larger decrease, with its cost dropping by ,000 to ,900. The Grand Touring is priced at 9,900, while the flagship product, the 0,000 Air Sapphire, remains unchanged.
According to Lucid Motors, these consecutive price cuts are aimed at making their brand more accessible to a wider audience. Peter Rawlinson, the CEO and CTO of Lucid Motors, expressed optimism about the future of electric vehicles and emphasized the importance of increased adoption in mitigating the effects of climate change.
In addition to the price reductions, Lucid Motors also announced that they will provide ,000 to every new owner for the purchase of charging accessories. This initiative aims to lower the entry cost for customers and create a more seamless experience when it comes to owning and charging the Lucid Air. Furthermore, each new Air vehicle comes with two years of scheduled maintenance included.
These price cuts come as demand for Lucid Motors’ Air lineup had stalled in recent months. Earlier this year, the company revealed that it had manufactured 8,428 vehicles in 2020 but only delivered 6,001, indicating a disparity between production and sales figures.
Overall, Lucid Motors is taking proactive steps to stimulate demand for its Air models by reducing prices and offering incentives to potential buyers. With these measures in place, the company aims to broaden its customer base and encourage the widespread adoption of electric vehicles for a greener future.
