UK-based fintech company DNA Payments has expanded its range of POS alternative payment methods by introducing Alipay+, a set of cross-border mobile payment and digitalization technology solutions operated by Ant International.
Alipay+ will enable over 50,000 UK merchants using DNA Payments’ POS terminals to accept direct payments from global tourists, particularly from Asia, in a fast and convenient manner. This will benefit sectors such as hospitality, tourism, travel, and more. Initially, users of 14 Alipay+ partner e-wallets will be able to make mobile payments with their home e-wallets at selected hospitality merchants like Boisdale restaurant group, Lochside House Hotel Spa & Lodges, and Durrants Hotel during the pilot scheme, which is set to conclude in June.
Customers can make payments by scanning a QR code on DNA Payments’ POS terminal and completing the transaction using their mobile payment apps. This seamless purchasing experience for international visitors to the UK will allow merchants to engage better with their customers through DNA Payments’ POS solutions.
The launch of Alipay+ includes partnerships with 14 e-wallets and banking apps, including Alipay, MPay, Touch ’n Go eWallet, GCash, and others from various countries. Introduced by Ant International, Alipay+ offers global coverage, connecting 88 million merchants with over 25 e-wallets and banking apps worldwide, providing a secure payment experience with access to promotions, benefits, and services from merchants globally.
