Colorado U.S. Senators Michael Bennet and John Hickenlooper have announced that Colorado will receive .6 million in funding from the U.S. Department of Transportation for infrastructure improvements at three major airports in the state. Denver International Airport, Colorado Springs Airport, and Centennial Airport will benefit from this funding, which is part of the Airport Terminal Program created through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
“Colorado’s airports play a crucial role in connecting our communities and driving our economy,” said Senator Bennet. “This funding will allow Denver, Colorado Springs, and Centennial to make upgrades that enhance safety and expand their capacity to accommodate our growing population.”
Senator Hickenlooper added, “Colorado is a hub for business, innovation, and outdoor recreation. The investments made through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law will ensure that our airports reflect our state’s leadership in these areas. The terminal improvements will support our economy and contribute to even greater success.”
The funding breakdown includes .6 million for Denver International Airport to improve energy efficiency and increase capacity, million for Centennial Airport to enhance air traffic safety and renovate the Air Traffic Control Tower, and million for Colorado Springs Airport to upgrade the terminal concourse, enhance ADA accessibility, and improve energy efficiency.
