Developer Glitch Pitch revealed the release date for Idol Manager will be July 27, 2021. The title will launch first on PC via Steam, Mac, and Linux on this date. The developer also uploaded a new trailer to its official YouTube channel which features a theme song from the idol group Kamen Joshi. Glitch Pitch stated that the business sim about the Japanese entertainment industry will also release on Nintendo Switch sometime after its PC, Mac, and Linux debut.
After hitting its Kickstarter goal in April 2018, Glitch Pitch initially planned to release its dark comedy and business simulator in December 2018. Several delays later, the team is partnering with Playism to launch the game this July. Playism also revealed the idol group Kamen Joshi will provide theme songs and voice acting for the title. Fans can check out the latest trailer below, featuring one of the new songs and an overview of the title’s gameplay mechanics.
The upcoming idol-raising sim won’t be your average game in the genre. Fans will get to see a darker side of the industry when they play as a male or female manager and handle the good, the bad, and the ugly associated with being an idol. The girls will suffer effects like “depression” and “hiatus” while players manage the idols’ relationships, training, PR nightmares, and emotional meltdowns.
The Idol Manager Steam, Mac, and Linux release date is July 27, 2021. The game will also launch on Nintendo Switch. However, the developer has not provided a date for the hybrid platform.
