The first alpha for Call of Duty: Vanguard will be exclusive to PlayStation players, to be held from August 27-29 with Champion Hill, a new multiplayer mode. All PS4 and PS5 owners will be able to access the alpha without PlayStation Plus subscription.
The free to play alpha will include four maps, and players will get to use some of the game’s armaments, including being able to modify some with up to 10 attachments. As for operators, four will be available in the alpha which include – Lucas Riggs, Polina Petrova, Wade Jackson, and Arthur Kingsley.
Champion Hill is a tournament style, multimap game mode where teams, made up of duos and trios compete in a round-robin deathmatch tournament against other squads. Each team starts with the same loadout, with the option of customising it throughout the match with drops scattered around the map. Similar to the Gulag in Warzone, eliminated players can watch how the tournament ends from the Buy Station Area spectator platform.
Call of Duty: Vanguard Alpha Preload Dates Revealed
Preloading for the alpha will begin on August 23 at 3:30 PM IST, with the alpha launching on August 27 at 10:30 PM. Owners of Call of Duty Warzone, Black Ops Cold War and Modern Warfare (2019) can access the Call of Duty: Vanguard Alpha through the main menu after it is downloaded.
All alpha participants will also receive a calling card and an emblem, accessible in Call of Duty: Vanguard upon its release, as well as Warzone following the integration of Vanguard.
Call of Duty: Vanguard Beta Dates Revealed
Activision also revealed that the beta for the game will be held across the following dates:
- September 10 to 13 – for PlayStation owners who have pre-ordered the game.
- September 16 to 20 – Open Beta for all PlayStation owners.
- September 18 to 20 – Open Beta for all players across all platforms.
Pre-orders for the game are now live in India, coming in three different editions – Standard, Cross-Gen Bundle and Ultimate Edition. The Xbox store also lists a cross-gen bundle upgrade for owners of the standard edition at Rs. 999, which as of right now does not show up on the PlayStation store. Otherwise, pricing for all editions remain the same on Xbox, although the PC version is exclusive to the Battle.net store where it is listed in USD prices. The standard edition of the game on PC costs $59.99 with the ultimate edition priced at $99.99.
Call of Duty Vanguard releases on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S consoles on November 5, 2021.
