Members of the Smash Community have been called out online following various sexual allegations on Twitter from other members of the gaming community and the general public.

Nintendo have since launched a statement and have cut ties with certain Smash Bro platers.

The Smash Community is known as one of the most popular professional gaming communities in the world, with fans tuning in to watch them from all over the globe.

Who are the Smash Bros Community?

The Smash Bros Community is a group of professional gamers who all play games made and published by Nintendo.

Particularly, this involves playing the game Super Smash Bros, a series of crossover fighting video games published by Nintendo that feature many different characters from the Nintendo franchises.

These people play in highly professional e-sports tournaments, a type of competitive sport played through video games for prize money.

Allegations within the Smash Bros Community

Over the past few days, allegations have arisen surrounding the Smash Bros Community.

A host of YouTubers started making videos calling out members of the Smash Bros Community for acts of sexual misconduct.

These YouTubers have been calling out the gamers, claiming that many young people have revealed stories about being sexual manipulation from someone in the Smash Bros Community.

Although more high profile gaming celebs are becoming involved in the topic, all allegations are unconfirmed.

Fans voice their opinion on the Smash Bros Community

Many people are taking to Twitter to reveal how disappointed they are of the Smash Bros Community. Lots of people have grown up watching the e-sports video game competitions and admired some of its top players.

One Twitter user said: “I’m at a loss for words as to what is happening within the smash bros community. I’m glad people have a platform to speak out to help make the community a safer place.”

Another wrote: “The news of all the things going on in the smash bros community is so disgusting and heartbreaking. It’s frightening to be reminded that you truly never really know someone, even if they’re a revered community leader or your closest friend.”

NRG released a statement on Twitter

American professional e-sports organisation NRG have released a statement on Twitter following the allegations.

They said: “This morning we were made aware of disturbing information involving Nairo. We take these situations incredibly seriously. NRG has severed all ties with Nairo.”

Nairo Quezada then realised his own statement on Twitter saying: “I’m not making any excuses. My behaviour was wrong. I messed up tremendously.”

He then apologises for everything and says that he “is taking some time for self-reflection” and is “committed to getting help”.
