Noisy Pixel’s Best Games of 2019 – Platforms, Publishers, and Developers

We’re continuing our Best Games of 2019 by revealing our favorites games on select platforms along with publishers and developers.

Best PC

The Outer Worlds

As PC gamers, we enjoy the more beautiful things in life, like having substantial narrative-driven RPGs with stunning graphics and excellent optimization. The Outer Words provided that and more.

Best PS4

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice

FromSoftware simply blew us away with Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. By teaching us once again how to “Git Gud,” we can’t ignore this masterpiece of an action game. Especially since its one that has stayed consistently inside of our PS4’s since launch.

Best Xbox One Game

Gears 5

Gears 5 brought the series to a new era, and we hope gamers don’t overlook this game. We aren’t speaking on the multiplayer here, but we did enjoy a lot of what the story was trying to do for us. We also like blowing stuff up, so that works.

Best Nintendo Switch Game

Fire Emblem: Three Houses

Given that this game made us argue for months over which house was better, Fire Emblem: Three Houses is an excellent entry in the series. We loved exploring the school grounds while building our relationship with others as we took to the battlefield and took out all who stood in our way. What makes it even better is that we can also take it on the go with us.

Best First Party Game

Fire Emblem: Three Houses

What can we say about this game that we haven’t said before? Fire Emblem: Three House was a stand-out first-party release this year and deserved the praise.

Best Publisher

Spike Chunsoft

In 2019, Spike Chunsoft brought some of the most excellent games from Japan to the west. With a line up of games like Crystar, AI: The Somnium Files, YU-NO: A girl who chants love at the bound of this world, and Conception Plus, Spike Chunsoft provides they have what it takes to be one of the more prominent publishers in the west.

Best Developer

Square Enix Business Division 5

I’m sure we could just point you to Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers, but there’s a lot to be said about Square Enix Business Division 5 and the successes that they’ve had in 2019. Through dedication to their community and projects, this is a group that loves what they do, which shows in the quality of the product.

We are looking forward to the many other stories the team plans to tell in 2020.

Best Indie Developer

Inti Creates

An independent developer is one of the toughest jobs to take on. Well, try being an independent developer from Japan while trying to self publish your games in the west. Inti Creates is a developer who holds a ton of respect. The studio continuously puts out quality products, and they deserve all the amount of success for it. With games like Blaster Master Zero 2 and Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX, we are thankful for the hours of great 2D action that they have provided to us this year.
