Ghanaian third-tier side MSK Zilina Africa FC have arrived in Dubai for an invitational tournament and trial matches.
The Ghanaian lower side, affiliated to to Slovak Superliga club MŠK Žilina, will spend the next two weeks in the gulf playing series of friendly matches.
A contingent of 16 players and 4 officials arrived in the United Arab Emirates on Monday morning to begin the exercise.
The Accra-based side will battle top sides like Al Nasr, Al Jazeera, Al Ain and several other top teams in the gulf.
Chief Executive of MSK Zilina Africa FC Ishmael Lamptey, who is the leading the team to Dubai, has explained the rationale behind the move.
“We the football people are those doing the work of God, because we create such opportunities for players and it can turn their lives round if they are serious and committed” Lamptey said.
“Such international tours and trials builds the confidence of players and makes them tactically and technically better.”
The club has a mixture of Ghanaians, Ivorians and Cameroonians in their fold.
