Dust storm: UAE with instructions to drive safely on roads

Abu Dhabi: The UAE has issued instructions to drive safely on the roads in the event of dust storms in the country. Driving in dusty weather can be challenging. Officials said it was important to practice safe driving when the weather was unfavorable.

Driver Guidelines:

* Make sure the vehicle’s headlights are working properly before going on the roads.

* Be extra careful on the roads. Slow down when changing lanes.

However, the Met Office had earlier warned of dust storms in the UAE and reduced visibility of less than 100 meters in some areas. Visibility dropped to less than 100 meters on Tuesday morning in Al Hamra (Al Dafra) and Umm al-Shaif Island. Visibility on Dalma Island has dropped to less than 500 meters, according to the Meteorological Agency.
