Niva Fashion House is a luxury womenswear label, a brand proudly made in the UAE. It offers an array of designs that fit millennials and fashion-loving individuals. Their beautiful wardrobe staples are guaranteed to see you through the day, from workwear and off-duty staples to bespoke haute couture creations to night out, no matter the occasion.
However, having been launched in late 2020, the Dubai-based atelier debuted its collection to the public at the concluded Dubai Fashion Week 2022. So here are three things you need to know about the brand’s Fashion Week debut and the collection in case you missed the show.
NIVA Closed the Show with a Bang: As a brand that was set up when the world was grappling with the novel Covid-19 pandemic, the womenswear label waited for the right time to present its offering to the world, the time when face masks are no more mandatory to be worn and of course, the time physical runway shows are returning to normal. However, going by the usual belief, the best is usually served for the last, our collective gaze was on NIVA to close the show, and there was no disappointment.
At about 8:30 pm, there was a shift in the music, something Arabic and English, with changes in the color of the lights, which were obviously served as a good backdrop. Models were seen stomping the catwalk to showcase the label’s first collection entitled: “Vogue Amore Runway Collection.”
Guests Were Applauding
There’s a fashion week show, and there’s a collection to debut, but pulling it off might seem a bit daunting. However, this wasn’t the case for Mr. Ahmed El Dakroury, the artistic director of NIVA Fashion House. For his first fashion week debut, the designer pulled it off with such aplomb. There was a standing ovation and a nod of approval by the guests and showgoers stunned by the impressive Vogue Amore Runway Collection. However, the show ended with Dakroury taking a shaking hand with his Manager Amr El Kady in front of the beaming guests.
The Collection was Wow-worthy
The designer exceeded our expectations for his first collection, delivering what we considered high fashion designing and dressmaking (a.k.aHaute Couture). There were red carpet-worthy gowns, office-appropriate pants, and blazers, and there were off-duty pieces and date night and party-appropriate dresses. According to the designer, “the collection showcased Dubai’s love for grace and elegance.”
Showcasing the pieces was none other than a diverse set of leggy models of different shapes and sizes who wowed the crowd with their slow gait while revealing the collection. The accessories were also above par, as the models were sent down the runway in bling-on statement-making earrings and necklaces. When it comes to accessorizing, more significant was better and more bling was more at NIVA.
As for the makeup, the brand’s in-house makeup artist brought some 90 trends in full glamour with shimmering dark eyeshadow, perfectly contoured cheeks, and bold red lips. Some models were also seen spotting the hot pink as eyeshadow, a resounding new trend projected to be the season’s favourite you probably may be seeing everywhere in summer.
