Set during a Mongol invasion of Japan’s Tsushima Island during the 13th century, Ghost of Tsushima is about a samurai warrior named Jin, who’s fighting against Mongols by using both samurai and ninja tactics.
Ghost of Tsushima was last shown at Sony’s E3 2018 conference alongside other major PS4 exclusives such as The Last of Us Part II, Marvel’s Spider-Man, and Death Stranding. Spider-Man and Death Stranding have both launched since then and The Last of Us Part II currently has an official May 2020 release date.
Hopefully, this upcoming trailer will reveal a release date or release window along with new gameplay since not much has been revealed about Ghost of Tsushima other than its story premise, some combat gameplay, and a few gameplay details.
It’s been so long since anything new about the game was shown that gamers have speculated that the open-world samurai/ninja game was going to come out on PS5 instead of PS4. However, Sony Interactive Entertainment boss Jim Ryan confirmed during the official October announcement of the PS5 that Sucker Punch’s latest game was still slated for a PS4 launch.
