Nordic publisher 2Awesome Studio has announced they will bring The Bug Butcher and other titles from Awfully Nice Studios to Nintendo Switch this summer. The Bug Butcher and more will be playable on Switch at Gamescon in Germany this month.

The Bug Butcher itself is a 2D side-scrolling shooter where you, as exterminator Harry, vertically shoot down numerous bugs and aliens within multiple rooms full of traps, hazards, and barriers (Awfully Nice Studios cites Super Buster Bros./Super Pang as a major inspiration in particular). Numerous power-ups for your blaster heighten the frenzied action, as seen in the above trailer.

If you’re a European (or Germanic) Oprainfall reader, Gamescon 2018 begins August 18th and runs through Saturday the 25th. That marks the first opportunity to get hands-on with The Bug Butcher, and the 2Awesome Studios’ other unannounced games, before they launch later this summer.
