Gaming giants Sony and Nintendo suffered losses in early trading during the European session, as stocks of multimedia platform-makers dropped over 3% after Google’s parent Alphabet announced it was launching a streaming video game platform called Stadia yesterday.

According to certain analysts, however, the console gaming sector remains a significant segment of the entire gaming market, expected to be dominated by the two companies, as well as Microsoft.

Nintendo was down 3.24% i nearly trading, while PlayStation-creator Sony decreased 2.48% at 9:30 am CET.
