UPDATE: Nintendo has official broke the news on Diablo III: Eternal Collection coming to the Switch platform. Watch the trailer below to see the in-game in action, as well as some of the multiplayer functions put to use.
Article originally published on August 16, 2018: Earlier today, Forbes published an article officially announcing the release of Diablo III Eternal Collection for the Nintendo Switch. Set for a Fall release, the fact that this is happening is exciting news for fans of the Blizzard Entertainment franchise. What’s most surprising about this information is that just months ago, the video game developer dispelled rumours of a Nintendo partnership after they tweeted a clip of a Diablo night light being “switched” off.
What we know from the article is that the game download will also be packaged with the Reaper of Souls expansion and the Rise of the Necromancer pack. Where the Switch’s features come to play is in the ability to play various on and offline modes — there will be an option for offline four-player co-op, via separate consoles, and a mode for four-players on a single Switch. In terms of visuals, a teaser image of an in-game character wearing a special Zelda Ganondorf armor set was all we managed to see. Priced at $60 USD, check back later for more news on the game’s release.

The last project Nintendo did with Blizzard.
