Konami has announced that Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel (or just Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel) is coming to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, PC, and smartphones. The company announced the title by name last year, but we now have its first details with a new trailer with a message from senior producer Kenichi Kataoka.
You might’ve guessed it from the title, but Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel is an upcoming video game based on the Master Rules of the official card game. The developers are focusing on balancing the presentation and tempo of the card game in Master Duel. Furthermore, they’re looking to make it easier and more enjoyable for spectators to watch and understand what’s going on.
While other current Yu-Gi-Oh! games such as Duel Links and Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution feature characters and the world from the manga and anime, Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel will have a much bigger focus on the trading card game aspect of it. The new game will also have a tutorial to help new players learn the Master Duel rules before getting started. We can look forward to more when Konami makes it an official event at the next Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship events.
