Future Games Show E3 2021 — Every New Announcement

The Future Games Show brought to you by Gamesradar+ had plenty of announcements, tons of indies, and major highlights in Severed Steel and Happy Game.

Starting off the show, we saw the Future Games Show present a couple of upcoming titles in Instinction, a dinosaur shooter coming in 2022, and Grow: Song of the Evertree—the next game from the creators of Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles. The newest title from Prideful Sloth and 505 Games will come to PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC in 2021.

On a walk through the virtual show floor for the Future Games Show, hosts Troy Baker and Laura Bailey gave quick tidbits on several titles that would be receiving demos for a limited time. eSports Boxing Club was announced for PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One/Series X, and PC for a late 2021 launch. Touting the greatest fighting roster in video game history, this title features over 200 current and former fighters from boxing to UFC and more returning to the ring.

The return of WWII shooters came in this conference, with Hell Let Loose and Enlisted seeing long-form gameplay displays. Red Solstice 2: Survivors is getting a Steam release on June 17th, while Eldest Souls is on the way July 29th. Finally, Lake returned for this event to announce its September 1st release date on Xbox and PC where you become a mail carrier in a small town set in the 80s.

Severed Steel mixes Superhot with Mega Man’s arm cannon while announcing it would be coming soon to Xbox, PlayStation, and PC. Sonic Colors Ultimate got an exclusive clip showing off its renewed graphics. And Chucklefish (Stardew Valley, Wargroove) announced its Early Access release for Starmancer on August 1st. DeathRun TV is also getting a launch on all platforms, with a Steam “pilot” available to try out now.

A couple of video montages managed to show off dozens of indies with all sorts of updated dates and information, including a free update coming to Overcooked! and more from publisher Team17. Amanita Design (Machinarium) showed Happy Game, which looks to be a mix of horror titles in the style of Little Nightmares, but with a creepy twist like you’d find in Little Misfortune or Fran Bow. It will come to PC and Nintendo Switch in 2021.

Gorgeous indie title Minute of Islands received a shadow drop—available now on all advertised platforms. OlliOlli World got a lengthy look into what to expect from the skateboarding title and Tails of Iron was shown off with the same voice actor as Geralt of Rivia, Doug Cockle. And David Jaffe (Twisted Metal, God of War) presented the Movie Games lineup with several titles looking very artistic.

RPG-goodness entered the fold with XSEED Entertainment showing off their lineup, with the biggest news being a closer look at Rune Factory 5. Project Ferocious was teased, utilising a codename for now, with a Turok-esque appearance and gunplay that reminded of Crysis—targeting a 2023 release. What would happen if Doom Guy had a drunk, one-night-stand with Super Meat Boy? Look no further than Warcry Challenges, coming this Summer.

Ending the show with “one more thing”, the Future Games Show presented the next release from Sam Barlow (Her Story, Telling Lies) with Immortality coming in 2022.
