Fortnite update 17.20 is launching today, following a longer than normal wait for the next big Season 7 patch.
Epic Games has warned that there will be new features and content to enjoy when everything goes live on PS4, Xbox One, PC, Mobile and Nintendo Switch.
One highlight is a new default option that is being turned on for gamers who have a hard time with inventory management.
And while it’s not as important as being good in a gunfight, being able to track everything you have to hand is still crucial if you’re looking to come out as the last man standing.
Things will be getting a little easier with the launch of Fortnite update 17.20, with Epic Games confirming that Preferred Item Slots will be part of the next patch.
A message from Epic Games explains: “Looting in the heat of battle? Have no fear; Preferred Item Slots are near.
“This setting sorts your pick-ups in the inventory slot you designate for more control over what goes where.
“This new option will be turned On with a default selection for everyone in our next game update.”
And as mentioned above, Fortnite update 17.20 will be downloadable and playable after today’s scheduled server maintenance.
The full game experience will be offline for at least an hour this morning and will be happening earlier than usual.
WHEN IS FORTNITE DOWNTIME FOR UPDATE 17.20 STARTING?

No one should be left waiting around for the servers to come back as all platforms will be coming back online at the same time.
Epic Games has not confirmed how long Fortnite downtime and have yet to provide the usual estimate.
But based on previous patches we would expect services to be back online by 10am BST on July 20.
