We now have a release date for Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise. The follow up to the cult hit will launch on July 10, exclusive to Nintendo Switch.
That’s a simultaneous worldwide release for the sequel. You can see the announcement of the release date in the trailer for Deadly Premonition 2 just below, which sees detective York returning to action once again.
It’s not quite as simple as York just returning though. Turns out Deadly Premonition 2 serves as both a sequel and a prequel to the 2010 original, with some time travelling shenanigans involved. You’ll be playing as detective York in present day Boston, and then venturing back in time to begin solving the Le Carre serial murders.
You’ll be travelling around the open-world town of Le Carre by foot or by skateboard (obviously, how else would detectives get around?). Bayou riding, bowling, and skateboard challenges are featured around the town for you to take part in.
Last year in September, publisher Rising Star Games stated that Deadly Premonition 2 would be a Switch exclusive “at launch.” While this might have hinted at a release on additional platforms at the time, there’s still no news about a potential release on other systems.
Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise launches both at retail and digitally on the eShop on July 10, and both versions will retail for $49.99 at launch. If you haven’t played the original Deadly Premonition, it’s 50% off on the Nintendo eShop from now until May 17.
