If you’ve been wondering whether your gaming PC can handle Cyberpunk 2077 then we’ve got some good news for you. While the game does look quite futuristic, it doesn’t really require a futuristic machine to run. The game has been in development for almost eight years and it has been made with keeping the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One in mind as well. In fact, ironing out stability issues is partly the reason why the game has been delayed to December 10th.
Having said that, the lowest common denominator here happens to be the PS4 and Xbox One consoles which means the game will also be able to run on lower-powered hardware for gaming PCs. CD Projekt Red’s UK Head of Communication and Night City Wire Host Hollie Bennett announced the minimum and recommended PC specifications for the upcoming role-playing game and it looks like the developers do not want to leave anybody behind.
The game will take at least 70GB of storage and we would recommend running the game on an SSD if you want faster loading times. If you are uncertain as to whether your PC will be able to play the game; here are the minimum and recommended requirements for Cyberpunk 2077 according to CD Projekt Red:
MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:
OS: 64-Bit Windows 7 or 64-Bit 10
DirectX Version: DirectX 12
Processor: Intel Core i5-3570K or AMD FX-8310
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 or AMD Radeon RX 470
Storage: 70 GB HDD (SSD recommended)
RECOMMENDED SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:
OS: 64-Bit Windows 10
DirectX Version: DirectX 12
Processor: Intel Core i7-4790 or AMD Ryzen 3 3200G
Memory: 12 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 or AMD Radeon R9 Fury
Storage: 70 GB SSD
Cyberpunk 2077 is expected to be a large open-world game that will be fairly detailed and these requirements are quite reassuring. You will need at least an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 or AMD Radeon RX 470 which launched seven and four years ago respectively.
While these are the minimum requirements, do not expect the game to look as good as you may have seen in the previews. CD Projekt Red recommends using at least an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 or AMD Radeon R9 Fury which launched four and five years ago respectively. The case remains the same for the minimum and recommended processor to run this game as the game can run with older CPUs such as Intel Core i7-4790, Intel Core i5-3570K, AMD FX-8310, AMD Ryzen 3 3200G or above.
You will definitely need the recommended specifications or better to get the best experience with the game even though the minimum requirements are quite low. If you are an RTX GPU user, you can also take advantage of ray-tracing effects and better resolutions on PC.
Cyberpunk 2077 is expected to release on December 10th for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. Next-generation upgrades for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series are expected soon after with better optimisations for the new hardware. If you are looking to get Cyberpunk 2077 in India, we recommend getting it from GTS as you also get a free T-Shirt with every pre-order.
