After leaking on the PlayStation Store last night, Studio MDHR has today officially announced that Cuphead will be available on the PS4 starting from today. MDHR marked the announcement with a “stop motion animated launch trailer”.

The popular old-school platformer first released as a Microsoft exclusive for Xbox One and Windows 10 PC in late 2017. A Nintendo Switch version of the game released in April 2019.  The release on PS4 today further shows Microsoft’s commitment to be able to play the games on your preferred platform as long as you are buying into their software.

Cuphead follows the two fictional characters of Cuphead and his brother Mugman. The game focuses heavily on boss fights and is certainly known for how challenging it can be. It is critically acclaimed too with the indie title’s Xbox One version sitting at a 86 on Metacritic. Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course – an expansion to the original game is still yet to release with it currently having a 2020 release window.
